Celebrity Update Cindy Crawford finally had some development on the extortion harassment concerning her and her family. Prosecutors say they are opening an investigation against a German man suspected of trying to extort money from former supermodel Cindy Crawford and her family in the United States. |
Edis Kayalar, 26, has not yet been arrested. He was recently deported to Germany and believed to be in Stuttgart, authorities said. The 26-year-old has been charged in the U.S. with trying to extort $100,000 from Crawford and her entrepreneur husband Rande Gerber by threatening to release a photo of their daughter bound to a chair and gagged when she was 7.
According to the documents, Kaia – who is now eight – told her parents the photo, which they had been unaware of, was taken during a “cops and robbers” game with the nanny. If convicted of extortion, Edis Kayalar could face up to two years in prison. Cindy and Rande Gerber married in 1998 and they also have a 10-year-old son Presley.
