Celebrity Update Betty White is in rumors that she might be hosting Saturday Night Live (SNL). The 88 year old American actress, comedian and former television host with a career spanning over sixty-five years is almost close to host the show for the first time.

White would not be hosting alone. Rather, I hear SNL is putting together a “Women of Comedy” episode that would team the former Rose Nylund with several of her younger contemporaries. Ex-SNL MVP Molly Shannon is on board, I hear, and feelers have also been put out to Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. (An NBC spokesperson insists no one has been confirmed at this time.)

Her television roles include Sue Ann Nivens on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Rose Nylund on The Golden Girls.

White has won six Emmy Awards and received 18 Emmy nominations over the course of her career, and was the first woman to ever receive an Emmy for game show hosting.

Celebrity Update Tiger Woods will hold a press conference that will be held at the TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida at 11:00am EST. The most controversial Celebrity Athlete will finally surface to the whole world to discuss his infidelities and also his future in golf. Tiger is expected to apologize for his actions, hoping to gain public sympathy. Woods has essentially been in hiding since the controversial November 27th accident that took place in front of his home.

Tiger’s agent, Mark Steinberg says Tiger is ready to face his disappointed fans. “Tiger feels as though it’s time to make amends and to publicly do that. This has all come together quite quickly.”

Steinberg would not say if Tiger will be returning to golf, but instead said all will be revealed during Friday’s press conference.

Celebrity Update Doug Liman will direct an insider’s view of the 1971 Attica state prison rebellion from a script by Academy Award nominee Geoffrey Fletcher. The 45 year old American film director and producer is also best known for The Bourne Identity (2002), Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005) and Jumper (2008).

Doug Liman will also produce Attica with David Bartis under their Hypnotic company along with Elliot Abbott (Awakenings, A League of Their Own), who is financing the development. Avrum Ludwig also will produce.

The film purports to explore the bloodiest prison confrontation in U.S. history and the firestorm of controversy that followed the 4-day standoff.

Celebrity Update Kiefer Sutherland will undergo medical procedure related to a ruptured cyst near his kidney. 20th Century Fox Studios has halted production on the hit series after the 42 year old Canadian actor, producer and director suffered a ruptured cyst earlier in the week.

On Sunday, 20th Century Fox Television released the following statement:

“We are temporarily suspending production of ‘24’ while our friend and colleague Kiefer Sutherland undergoes a medical procedure. We hope to resume production shortly and do not anticipate any disruption in the broadcast of this season’s episodes.”

Celebrity Update Heidi Klum is confirmed as she and other female actress signed deals today to guest star on the hit ABC series Desperate Housewives. The 36 year old German and American model, actress, television host, business woman, fashion designer, television producer, artist, and occasional singer together with Paulina Porizkova will be playing themselves in an episode tentatively slated to air in March.

In the episode Gaby (Eva Longoria Parker), who is a former model, and Angie (Drea de Matteo) run into the Project Runway host and former America’s Next Top Model judge in New York City. The storyline will take place in NYC but the episode will be shot here in Los Angeles.

The series also stars Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross, Alfre Woodard, Nathan Fillion, Neal McDonough, Dougray Scott and John Slattery.

Celebrity Update Tom Cruise is confirmed to produce and star in the newest Mission Impossible 4. The 47 year old American actor and producer will be reprising the role of Ethan Hunt, secret agent extraordinaire, in the latest sequel, set to start shooting this summer in time for a release around Memorial Day 2011. First there were rumors about this upcoming movie on how is it going to be with either a reboot or a spinoff. But one thing certain is that this will comeout in 2011.

“Tom and J.J. are great talents and we are excited to be working with them to relaunch this legendary franchise,” Paramount chairman and CEO Brad Grey said in a statement Tuesday.

Celebrity Update Carrie Prejean is now engaged with her football player boyfriend Kyle Boller. The 22 year old American model, author and former Miss California USA 2009 is planning on tying the knot to NFL pro Kyle Bower. Kyle Boller is a 28 year old athlete and playing for St. Louis Rams.

The two got engaged in Prejean’s hometown of San Diego, where Boller spends part of the off-season, a source told E! News.

Celebrity Update Vin Diesel will be again in the next movie of the Fast and Furious franchise, Fast Five. The 42 year old American actor, writer, director and producer together again with Paul Walker will be back for this new movie. It’s been announced that the fifth Fast and Furious will be officially titled Fast Five. Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are reprising and Justin Li is still directing. Where The story finds Dom (Vin Diesel) and Brian (Paul Walker) as fugitives being pursued by relentless lawmen.

“Yes. Yes. I think a few pictures at a time ahead. I try to work out stories in the way I approach sequels. In that, Coppola way. I try to think out the story, even before we go to shoot the film that’s at hand. So yes, I have been thinking about it (Fast and Furious 5). I actually brought up the idea of shooting both of the movies back to back to the President of Universal. He was like, ‘What? We’re just getting our feet back together.”

Celebrity Update Olivia Wilde is in negotiations to star in the graphic novel adaptation Cowboys & Aliens. The 25 year old Irish-American actress would play a character named Ella who joins up with mysterious gunslinger in an unlikely uprising against an alien invasion. The movie will be under Dreamworks Studio and will be directed by Jon Favreau.

Daniel Craig is playing the gunslinger, taking over the role from Robert Downey Jr., who dropped out of the project in January.

Celebrity Update Zachary Quinto may be starring in Steven Spielberg-directed biopic about a famous composer George Gershwin. The 32 year old American Actor may play the iconic composer and pianist. Base on Wikipedia: Gershwin’s compositions spanned both popular and classical genres, and his most popular melodies are universally familiar. He wrote most of his vocal and theatrical works, including more than a dozen Broadway shows, in collaboration with his elder brother, lyricist Ira Gershwin.

As he has been hired he even has ben provided “accent and dialogue coaches” to help him prepare for the role.

Zachary is on a role now as the Star Trek production is also making preparations for the sequel as they may begin with its production by May of next year.
