Celebrity Update Jim Carrey’s stalled comedy Pierre Pierre is back on track. Borat/Bruno helmer Larry Charles has signed on to direct the movie.

The film, about an obnoxious Frenchman who transports a stolen painting from Paris to London, was originally set to be made by Up In The Air’s Jason Reitman, but the Oscar nominee dropped out and the picture was left in limbo following a series of studio setbacks.

However, Pierre Pierre has now been given a reboot with Bruno director Charles taking charge of the shoot, according to Deadline.com.

Celebrity Update Will Smith signed up to produce and star in The Legend of Cain. Based on the Biblical story of brothers Cain and Abel. The star’s own Overbrook Entertainment will produce the film.

Written by Caleeb Pinkett and Dan Knauf, with revision from Andrea Berloff, the story will be given a “vampiric twist”, but with no news on how exactly that will play out as yet. I doubt there can be any vampire angle which isn’t covered in one film or another, even the biblical element has been covered before in Dracula 2000, so I’ll not get too excited just yet, especially as Smith’s last dabble with vampires (in everything but name), I Am Legend wasted great source material itself.

Celebrity Update Pink fell from a harness that suspended her on stage during a show in Nuremberg as she was rushed to a hospital after that incident. She was quickly escorted off stage and into an ambulance.

Shortly after, Pink apologized to fans at the concert, saying, “I am so so so sorry to end the show that way. I am embarassed and very sorry.”

Celebrity Update Nicolas Cage revealed he had just signed the deal to return to star in Ghost Rider 2. The actor also confirmed that Neveldine/Taylor (Crank) will direct.

Cage also said Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor from Crank will be directing. So it looks as if there’s no more speculation, no more talks with Sony. The deal is done and Cage will be returning as Johnny Blaze.

Celebrity Update Elizabeth Banks has been attached to play in a live-action Tinker Bell movie titled Tink. The romantic comedy will be produced by Adam Shankman, Jennifer Gibgot and McG.

The movie will play with the mischievous nature of Tinker Bell. It was developed by Banks with Max Handelman, who co-runs the actress’ production shingle, Brownstone Productions, and Matt Smith of Offspring Entertainment. McG and Mary Viola will produce through their Wonderland Entertainment.

Celebrity Update Joaquin Phoenix could play Hulk in Avengers after it is confirmed that Edward Norton will not reprise his role in “The Avengers”.

Joaquin hasn’t accepted the part yet, it’s only rumored to have been offered to him. Phoenix last movie was way back 2008 Two Lovers.

Becoming the new Hulk will be a big way for him to return to acting and give Marvel a reason to make “The Incredible Hulk” sequel.

Celebrity Update Lebron James will be signing with the Miami Heat for this season. He will be playing alongside with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. These three all-stars can sure make Miami Heat a championship team, only if they work together. Regarding the number it has not been confirmed yet if he stays with #23 or change it.

“The attraction in Miami is being alongside Dwyane Wade and being alongside Chris Bosh. It is a new challenge for myself,” James said.

Celebrity Update Aaron Johnson is rumored to be playing the role of Cyclops in the movie X-Men: First Class. He has been spotted together with X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn in a meeting like scenario.

Aaron has been in movies like Kick-Ass and Nowhere Boy that were launched just this year.

Celebrity Update Denzel Washington is in talks to star in Universal Pictures’ thriller Safe House. Washington would play the lead role of a dangerous prisoner being escorted through menacing territory by a young CIA agent. Daniel Espinosa (”Snabba Cash”) is directing from a script by David Guggenheim.

Safe House centers on a man at a CIA-run safe house who must help a criminal, who’s being kept there, avoid being killed by villains who want the witness dead.

Celebrity Update Christian Bale is reportedly set to star in the drama The Last Photograph. The film is based off an idea from writer/director Zack Snyder, a drama based on an original idea he had about two men traveling to Afghanistan because of a particularly meaningful photo.

The film is being written by 300 collaborator Kurt Johnstad, and Sergey Bodrov of the epic Mongol was originally signed to direct. Rumor has it, however, that he has been replaced by Oplev, the director behind the stellar The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo adaptation.
