Celebrity Update Amanda Seyfried is set to play Cinderella in a new live action film version of the classic tale. After the billion-dollar worldwide success of Alice in Wonderland, Disney is digging through their animated vaults for inspiration, including a live-action edition of Cinderella.

We all know the story: “the wicked stepmother and stepsisters simply won’t have it, this uppity Cinderella thinking she’s going to a ball designed to find the handsome prince an appropriate sweetheart, but perseverance, animal buddies, and a well-timed entrance by a fairy godmother make sure things turn out all right.”

Celebrity Update Andrew Garfield has been officially announced by Sony that he will play the role of Spider-Man/Peter Parker. Garfield was among the final list of contenders along with Jamie Bell, Anton Yelchin, Aaron Johnson, Logan Lerman, Alden Ehrenreich, Frank Dillane, Michael Angarano, and Josh Hutcherson.

Celebrity Update Megan Fox has tied the knot with longtime boyfriend Brian Austin Green. Fox’s publicist Dominique Appel said Tuesday the couple was “happily married.” The 24-year-old actress became engaged to Green earlier this month for the second time. The pair was previously engaged in 2006.

“They had a fairly large wedding, but there were clearly more security people than guests… They had to call in local security because the hotel security alone wouldn’t do. It was very hush hush. Everyone was sworn to secrecy.It seemed like a spur of the moment thing. I don’t think it had been planned long.”

Celebrity Update Alice Eve is reportedly in negotiations to join the cast of X-Men: First Class as the telepathic mutant. X-Men franchise producer Lauren Shuler Donner said we’d be finding out “soon” about more casting updates for X-Men: First Class and she wasn’t kidding. With the X-Men prequel set to being production in August and some key characters cast already, we’re just starting to see producer Bryan Singer and director Matthew Vaughn fill out the ranks of the X-Men: First Class roster.

The latest character about to be confirmed is that of Emma Frost (aka. the White Queen) who once fought against the X-Men but later joined them. Emma Frost is a main character in the current X-Men comics and she was mistreated included in last summer’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, leading to the obvious inclusion of her character in X-Men: First Class.

Celebrity Update Fergie is rumored to be leaving the band Black Eyed Peas. Sources are reporting that Stacy Ferguson, a.k.a. Fergie, is considering leaving the band because of problems with Will.i.am and because she is ready to start a family. Friends close to Fergie say she is “on the verge” of leaving the Black Eyed Peas.

“Fergie is saying she wants out of the band and the second half of the tour isn’t confirmed for early next year,” the source said. “Things have gotten really bad with Will.i.Am. And it’s not just Fergie who is clashing with him. So is the rest of the band. His ego is out of control. Fergie just wants to get away from the whole thing.”

Celebrity Update Channing Tatum has joined the Fox project Ion. Described as a sci-fi romance akin to Avatar, Ion comes from a spec script from Hollywood newcover Will Dunn and involves, “a man who travels to different Earths and dimensions in order to find his reincarnated lover.”

Celebrity Update Charlie Sheen is is game to reprise his Ricky ‘WILD THING’ Vaughn character for a Major League sequel, according to the original film’s writer/director. Also they are hoping to bring back the stars of the 1989 original.

To date, the original Major League remains one of the best baseball movies out there, combining the absurd, comedic and redemptive in a story about a floundering franchise using a motley crew to win the pennant. Wild Thing, you make my heart sing!

Celebrity Update Imogen Poots (Solitary Man) has signed on to play the female lead in Craig Gillespie’s remake of the 1985 cult horror-comedy Fright Night. She joins Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, Toni Collette, David Tennant and Christopher Mintz-Plasse in the remake directed by Craig Gillespie from a script by Marti Noxon. Poots will play Yelchin’s girlfriend, part of the popular crowd and unaware of his earlier life as a nerd.

Poots has a handful of films on her resume including V for Vendetta, 28 Weeks Later, Me and Orson Welles and Solitary Man, but she’s certainly far lesser known than her fellow cast members. THR describes her role as “part of the popular crowd and unaware of his earlier life as a nerd,” which clearly reflects the filmmakers’ effort to modernize the production a bit.
