Bassett is playing Dr. Amanda Waller, a government agent who in comics lore became charged with overseeing the Suicide Squad, a government-run group of captured supervillains performing tasks in exchange for eventual freedom. It’s unclear if that group will pop up in “Lantern.”

The movie recently began filming in New Orleans with a cast led by Ryan Reynolds and including Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard and Tim Robbins.

Bassett recently starred in TV’s “ER” and was seen on the big screen in the Notorious B.I.G. biopic, “Notorious.” She is planning to make her feature directorial debut with “United States,” an adaptation of Percival Everett’s novel “Erasure,” which concerns a black literary figure who writes a faux autobiography that becomes a sensation.

Strong joins Ryan Reynolds, Tim Robbins, Blake Lively, and Peter Sarsgaard in the Martin Campbell-directed Green Lantern, which is scheduled to be released in theaters June 17, 2011.

Jennifer Garner, Diane Kruger and Eva Green were some of the rumored choices for the role of Carol Ferris and Blake Lively was the luckiest to be chosen as the filming will be held first at Louisiana.

Green Lantern is based on the DC Comics serial about an ordinary man chosen by an alien to receive an energy ring that can be used to protect the planet.

Some were saying that she was too young for that role but Blake Lively was able to impressed everyone with both her audition and work in Ben Affleck’s new film The Town, now in post-production.

This Actor who did got a big break from a talent search and went to star in Disney Channel television series and a lead singer of a hot late 1990’s hot boy band N’sync is said to play a superhero role.

Got an unconfirmed rumor that at Leavesden Studios – there’s been some Warner Bros. screen testing on GREEN LANTERN and that Justin Timberlake was suiting up for the test. That does not mean that JT is going to be Hal Jordan, but just that he’s one of the guys that they’ve been seriously considering for the role of our Emerald Knight.

According to Warner Bros. the film will set to be released on June 17, 2011. Enough time for them to make a blockbuster movie and a long wait for us to watch who the casts would be.
