Orlando Bloom joins the cast of The Three Musketeers

Celebrity Update Orlando Bloom joins the cast of The Three Musketeers together with James Corden. The lineup already includes Logan Lerman, Christoph Waltz and Milla Jovovich. Paul W.S. Anderson, Jovovich’s husband, is directing.

Bloom will play the Duke of Buckingham, the arch-nemesis to the Musketeers who is described as “so cool that you can chop him into cubes and serve with vodka.”

Based on Alexandre Dumas’ novel of the same title, “The Three Musketeers” is directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and written by Anderson as well as Andrew Davies. The 3-D action adventure movie is scheduled to start shooting later this summer for a summer 2011 release.

“We are definitely modernizing ‘The Three Musketeers’ without compromising the fun of shooting a period piece,” Anderson has previously shared about the movie. “But in our film, corsets and feathered hats don’t take center stage. Our version is rich in eye-popping action, romance and adventure.” He additionally hoped to shoot it in France and Germany.

Celebrity Update Orlando Bloom says he is out for the franchise Pirates of Carribean 4 as Will Turner. The 33 year old English Actor has said that he will not be doing “Pirates Of The Caribbean 4? movie entitled, “On Stranger Tides.”

The movies is said to start shooting this spring in Hawaii. Orlando said he had enjoyed doing the movies,but wanted to do something different.

“No, definitely not,” he said when asked if he’d return for the fourth “Pirates” movie. “I think Will is sort of swimming around with the fish at the bottom of the ocean.”

“I had a great time making those movies,” he said. “I just really wanted to do different things, but I think it’s going to be great. Whatever Johnny does, I think it’s fantastic.”

Orlando Bloom as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador

Celebrity Update Orlando Bloom has been appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, in recognition of his commitment to the rights of children around the world.
This 32 year old English actor will record a PSA for UNICEF on the importance of clean and accessible drinking water. Lately Selena Gomez was also appointed as the youngest Ambassador for UNICEF.UNICEF is in celebration of 20 years of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

“I look forward to working with UNICEF as they continue to make the world a better place for children,” says the 32-year-old British actor who has already seen the work UNICEF is doing in Nepal, Russia, and Sarajevo. “UNICEF doesn’t just deliver humanitarian aid, which is what they are known for all over the world. They also educate and provide tools which help women and children face challenges specific to their own lives. I responded to how UNICEF works as much as I did to the work itself. I look forward to learning more and to supporting UNICEF any way I can.”

He already has some first hand experience of how this things goes as he witnessed UNICEF efforts n Nepal, Russia, and Sarajevo.
