USA Today has published this first official photo of Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson in Fast Five, the fifth installment of the “Fast and Furious” franchise hitting conventional and IMAX theaters on April 29. Stay tuned for the first trailer, launching Tuesday, December 14 at 12 noon Pacific Time.

The new movie is directed by Justin Lin (Fast and Furious, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift) and is scheduled to hit theaters on April 29th, 2011.

Celebrity Update Vin Diesel will be again in the next movie of the Fast and Furious franchise, Fast Five. The 42 year old American actor, writer, director and producer together again with Paul Walker will be back for this new movie. It’s been announced that the fifth Fast and Furious will be officially titled Fast Five. Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are reprising and Justin Li is still directing. Where The story finds Dom (Vin Diesel) and Brian (Paul Walker) as fugitives being pursued by relentless lawmen.

“Yes. Yes. I think a few pictures at a time ahead. I try to work out stories in the way I approach sequels. In that, Coppola way. I try to think out the story, even before we go to shoot the film that’s at hand. So yes, I have been thinking about it (Fast and Furious 5). I actually brought up the idea of shooting both of the movies back to back to the President of Universal. He was like, ‘What? We’re just getting our feet back together.”
